Best friends - with room for more

Moose and Mystic are brother and sister. They were living in a dumpster in PG County until they were rescued by a nice, young family living in a low-income housing project. Sure, the lease said "no pets" but everyone in the building had a cat or a dog, so they thought they'd be safe. When the building management changed, they tightened the rules and Moose and Mystic lost their home. That's when they came to AdvoCATs.

They lived in a foster home for a while until they were adopted by a single guy who wanted companionship. They were playful, affectionate, full of energy, inquisitive, and talkative! They ran up and down the hall, they investigated corners, they had a nice life for a few years until it was time to move again.

Now they're back in a foster home. Once they settled in (didn't take long) their personalities emerged in full force. Their foster family wrote a letter of introduction:

Moose

Moose is a quiet, soulful guy and the more demonstrative and affectionate of the two cats. He loves to sit with you at the computer, purring contentedly. He'll meow once or twice to get your attention, then it's all head-butts and tail-swipes! He's a lap cat who doesn't know he's a lap cat: He finds his way on your lap (especially if you lift him up and put him there) and discovers it's such a wonderful place, he doesn't want to leave!

He loves catnip toys and things that scurry. He really loves playing with his sister. They sound like they're fighting and hissing, but once the chase is up, they're back to being best friends. He doesn't mind if you pick him up for a couple of moments, but he prefers not to be held or snuggled.

Mystic

Mystic is a chatterbox! Her distinctive meows come out like a conversation. She may sound whiny or irritated, but she's really just telling you all about her day. She will look right in your eyes and meeeooowww! She's very expressive, telling you when she's happy, hungry, peeved, and contented.

She's not as demonstrative as Moose, but when she's in the mood for love, watch her roll around! Go ahead, scratch her belly, she won't mind. Unless, of course, you pick her up, which she really doesn't like. We've worked on holding her for a few seconds at a time. She still whines and wriggles, but she's getting a little better each time. She also dearly loves her toys, especially anything shiny and crackly! She'll carry her toys around and sing about them!

Both Moose and Mystic have one delightfully funny habit. We don't know how they learned it or where, but they can open drawers. They love opening sock drawers and pulling out socks! They are very curious, very funny cats!

Moose and Mystic will take a day or two to settle into your home. We recommend giving them their own room with a closed door. Spend a little time getting to know them there, then let them explore your home. Within a week, you'll be head over heels and they'll own the joint!
