AdvoCATs and PetHealth team to protect your family!

AdvoCATs now offers two great services to our cats and their adoptive families:

24PetWatch RFID Microchips

Every cat adopted from us carries the 24PetWatch microchip. This small chip (about the size of a grain of wild rice) is implanted under the cat's skin between the shoulderblades. It's a simple procedure done with a needle, like a vaccine. The chip emits a frequency that can be read by any scanner. Should your cat get out, get lost, or get separated from you in any way, a rescue or shelter group like ours will scan her first. The number that appears on the scanner is used to look up the cat's contact information. The chip also comes with a plastic tag with the chip number and 24PetWatch's toll-free phone number. Any reputable shelter or rescue group will make every effort to bring her back home.

24PetWatch guarantees 90% accuracy for their database of registered chips. Because AdvoCATs uses PetHealth's PetPoint Shelter Management System, the adoptive family is automatically registered. The chip and registration are part of our adoption fee.

We are happy to microchip any pets not adopted through AdvoCATs for a small fee. Please contact us for more information.

Protect your pet. ShelterCare Pet Insurance Programs ShelterCare Pet Health Insurance

AdvoCATs and PetHealth offer our adoptive families one free month of ShelterCare Pet Health Insurance. While we work very hard to maintain the health and happiness of our adoptees, the stress of adoption fairs and changing homes can awaken any number of health issues. This gift insurance policy covers the most common ailments that can arise in a shelter-based adoption, including upper respiratory infection, urinary tract infection, and injury from escaping. It works like a "cafeteria-plan" where you pay the veterinarian's bill, submit the receipt to Sheltercare, and (after a small deductible) receive a refund up to a specific amount.

Please note that ShelterCare only covers those symptoms that arise after the policy takes effect. It can take up to 48 hours for your coverage to begin.

Once the month is up, you have the option to renew the policy for a small monthly fee, upgrade to a more comprehensive health insurance program, or let it lapse entirely.

Also, every time a completed application for a ShelterCare program is generated through our shelter's website, we automatically receive a $25 donation to help cover common needs like blankets, litter and food. This donation is of no cost to you and provides us with essential funds. Make the right move and enroll today!

If you have any questions about either service, please do not hesitate to contact us, ShelterCare, or 24PetWatch!
