Happy Tails~

Adopting a new member of the family is a great experience. Our pet parents love to stop at our adoption fairs and tell us how their little ones are doing. They send us pictures, too. Here are a few we just adore!

Mabel (nee Laurel)
Mabel was adopted and quickly settled into her new family! "Her name now is actually Mabel, but we call her 'Mitts' for short!  She and our other cat, Hank, get along like two peas in a pod.  They didn't even take any time to adjust to each other.  The second we brought Mabel home, they were cuddling and playing with each other."

Callie and Izzy
Callie and Izzy were two of eight kittens born to a beautiful mom named Misty. They were adopted together by a woman whose family had adopted from us in the past. "I'm so happy to have them both in my life they gave added so much love and joy!"

Tori
It took a little while for Tori's family to find her, but once they did, they were in love!! "Tori is doing great!  The other day she fought her way out of a shopping bag (one of her favorite toys to date).  And she likes to sit in the sink and get sprinkled on the head any time anyone visits the bath.  She gained two pounds at her second vet visit back in October though still has the figure of a high fashion model."

Penelope (nee Dreama)
Penelope had a rought start, but found a happy place to spend the rest of her days! "Drema is now Penelope and is sitting on the keyboard as we speak as much as she's able helping me type and purring away. She's such a sweet girl and is the glue between our other two cats. The older one kind of likes her at least enough to tolerate being within a few inches, which is amazing, and the younger one and Penelope are great play buddies and wrestle and chase things together and then give each other baths during nap time." Here she is snuggling with Annabel

Bodie (nee Joey)
Bodie seems to have found the perfect family for him. Why, it's like he was meant to be there! Initial introductions to his two new roommates went "amazingly well" with nary a hiss. Now he gets regular cleanings from his mate Izzy!

Rory and Spencer
Rory and Spencer were adopted as tiny little kittens. Since then, their family has joined a local rescue group and fosters cats and kittens as they transition to permanent, loving home (just like these girls did). Mom says they handle the guests very well!

Carly
Carly fit in with her family almost immediately. She and Josie (the calico) quickly became friends. Carly even likes Freckles the dog! Here she is hanging out with Josie.

Dolly
Dolly took a day or so to adjust to her new family. They say she's "sweet, sweet, sweet!" Tthey love her and couldn't dream of giving her up!

George (nee TeTe)
George found himself a great family. He has claimed the couch as his and loves watching TV with the family and purring the whole time. They tell us he's a "true blessing"!

Orange tabby

Yoda
Yoda's family says he's "very, very intelligent. He has given us a lot of joy and fits right in with us."

Orange tabby

Floyd (nee Toshi)
Floyd has made himself very much at home, even in the dog's bed!

George (nee Adam)
Adam was adopted from us as a kitten along with his sister. They were returned a year later. George quickly charmed his way into a new family (and a new name). His family says he's the "KING of the house...He's great with people, too. very charming and loving."

Madison
Madison was adopted from us a few years ago. Her "grandmother" sent us this great picture and a wonderful update" "Madison is a regal, loving, funny cat with a beautiful, sleek jet black coat, whom Suzanne [her mom] adores. After a rocky start with her new 'brother' Rocket, they now play together.  She also plays with Suzanne... She plays 'flat cat' on command, where she gets flat on the carpet and drags herself several feet.  She's an indoor cat, but she has a window seat where she can watch 'cat TV' (birds and squirrels coming and going)." Here Maddy "helps" with the computer.

Camden
Eli (nee Camden) was adopted just a little while ago. His new pet parents report: "He is extremely curious and very affectionate! Although it was a little rough starting out with our other cat Chili, they are now best of friends and love playing with each other and my roommate even caught them taking a nap together the other day." Here he is, napping on his own:

Phil
Phil was adopted as an adult. His new pet parents are in love! "He's a happy boy. He was pretty hesitant at first near the dogs, but he's finally decided that they won't bother him. He plays with our other cat, Jaz, and he loves to just lie around and be petted. He eats a LOT! He likes to come get us and have us follow him and watch him eat. We just love him!!!!" Here's Phil lounging:

Harley (Cassandra)
Cassandra was renamed Harley, since she just can't stop purring! "She has been a great addition to our family. In the picture she is sitting with her new sister Muggles. They are playing through the apartment as I type. She is such a purr monster. Anytime you pick her up she purrs. Keep up the great work." Here she is with her roommate:

Mimmie
The Huggins family came in to adopt a lovely girl named Mimmie. She brought more than just fur into their house. She helped heal the family from the loss of two dear family members, a cousin and their long-time feline companion Ginger. "Now Mimmie is our new friend and we still get to know each other every day a little more. One thing is sure we love her already and she will be with us no matter were we go in the future... Your work really made a difference and you made my daughter smile again after our losses. Thank You." Here's Mimmie, happily ensonced:

Update July 2007:

Mimmie and family have moved to NC and adopted a companion for her. His name is wings. She loves him already.

Mystic (Carlos)
Carlos, now Mystic, found himself a great partner when Julia came in to adopt him. He's since moved to The Big Apple and looks forward to apartment dwelling.

Kumquat
Kumquat is a terribly shy Abyssinan. When she came in to AdvoCATs, she shied away from everything and everyone. The Fosters saw her and knew they could give her a loving, nurturing home to feel safe again. Stumpy, the Fosters' other Aby, has taken Kumquat under his wing. "She and Stumpy are comfortable with each other. There has been no aggression between them and they quite often sun together and sleep in our daughter's bed when she's not around. They also play tag quite frequently. When we're downstairs we will hear them pounding around upstairs as they chase each other back and forth." Here's a beautiful shot of Stumpy and Kumquat, aka "Slinky", in a quiet moment:
